Golden Screen Cinemas has entertained generations of Malaysians since it started in the movie business as an exhibitor more than 30 years ago. Today, GSC leads the industry as the country’s largest cinema exhibitor, managing 36 cinemas in Malaysia with a total of 344 screens, as well as 14 sites and 89 screens in Vietnam; the latter of which is managed through a partnership with Galaxy Studio. More than just an exhibitor, GSC is a total integrated entertainment provider, also co-producing and distributing films across the region.
Powered by the latest technologies including THX, D-BOX, Dolby Atmos surround sound, 4DX, Onyx Cinema LED, as well as GSC’s proprietary premium large screen format, MAXX, GSC’s auditoriums have been expertly designed to bring the cinematic world to life. Combined with our wide range of content from all around the world, both mainstream and alternative (available under the GSC International Screens brand), GSC is opening the doors for audiences all across Malaysia to discover life, art, and storytelling like they’ve never seen before.
We believe in the pioneering spirit and have – over the years – introduced many cutting-edge offerings and features that have found its way into Malaysian cinema experiences today, such as self-ticketing, autogate facilities and e-kiosks. This culminated to the building of GSC Mid Valley Megamall in 1999, the largest theatre in Malaysia, and upholds the record as the largest multiplex in South East Asia with 21 halls. This determination to constantly push the envelope is what drives GSC to innovate and reinvent the cinema-going experience.
